I have a son with HF Autism and I have heard that it can be caused
from a numerouse amount of things, including immunizations.
His EEG also showed that he has slowing in the background
waves and this was described to me as permanent damage being caused
by the brain lacking oxygen at some time, before or after birth. I have
been doing alot of research on bio feedback on High functioning individuals
and it has been showing remarkable results, could this be something
I should  consider exploring and if so, how do I find someone in my
area that does this? Can Autism be helped???
I too have a 6 yr old profoundly autistic child NON verbal I have found that
mega doses of vitamins B-6 and Magnesium seem to work well with my son he is more attentive
with it...He is also on NALTREXONE/REVIA for self injurious behavior he has not hit himself
anymore since being on the meds... He is also in a 1 on 1 program that is just getting started
so I cant bragg on it to much yet! :-) Medically I dont know of anything thing that has
help or we would have done tried that.. However I do know where you are coming from if you would ever like
to talk you can email me back privately I have alot of those days... *S*
