My husband and I would like to know when the best time to have intercourse would be in order to get pregnant.  We know it should be when I am ovulating but we have heard so many different things from different people.  When do most women ovulate?  Do we wait until my temperature is the lowest?  Should we have intercourse everyday?  Should we have intercourse once a month?  Please help.  I have been off the pill for one month.  I have been to my doctor and I am taking prenatal vitamins.  Are my periods going to be normal right after I go off the pill?  They were before.  When is the best time to take a home pregnancy test?  Thank you for your time!  This is such a big help, this web page!

Of course, the best time to try is when you're ovulating, which can be a little
hard to detect if you're not used to looking for it.  It took me two and a half
months to start cycling normally after I got off the pill(after two and
a half years, at the very lowest dosages).  I started charting my temps and
CF and things still aren't completely back to normal.  Some women do have
a dip in their temps before O, tipping them off, but many (myself included)
do not.  Once your temp has gone up (usually 98.0 or higher-but YMMV) you've
ovulated and it's pretty much too late-though you could give it one more try for good luck!
