Today I received the news that the pregnancy test I gave blood for on Friday was positive.  The nurse said the levels indicated a pregnancy of 2-3 wks along.
My period is now 1 1/2 wks late.  Is this normal?   The date of my last menstrual period is May 15 - which would make me 5 1/2 wks pregnant.  At the time the blood was drawn I was 5 wks exactly.
I have been through two pregnancies now where there was no baby - and I am concerned that when she said I was 2-3 wks - she is counting the weeks before I actually became pregnant - like you do when you are counting up for the 40 wks.
I will actually be able to ask this question in person tomorrow afternoon - but I was hoping to get an answer sooner if possible.  Any response would be appreciated.  Thanks!

When we calculate a forty week pregnancy we are using the first day of your last normal menstrual period.  The 40 weeks that we use are exact seven day weeks and not calender weeks.
