I also was first diagnosed with having hypothyroid after the birth of my first child (at age 36)... since then, I've had 1 first trimester miscarriage, got pregnant 2 months later, delivered another healthy baby, and am now 20 weeks pregnant at age 41 with baby number 3...  and though I'm obviously not a doctor, I don't personally believe that it will hurt your chances of getting pregnant.
