My LMP was on 1/27. On 2/12 we went throught IVF pick-up and 5 very good embryos were transferred on 2/15. Since 2/12 I started progesterone supplements.
HcG levels are high (1611 on 3/3, 17504 on 3/10, over 220000 on 3/19).
Vaginal ultrasound on 3/11 identified gestational sac and yolk sac inside the uterus, an ovarian cyst, but no fetal pole ; IS IT NORMAL ?
I have no bleeding or spotting now (some brown colored spotting lasted 4 weeks and then stopped), but I have constant pain in the lower abdomen with frequent cramps on the left side ; CAN IT BE DUE TO THE PROGESTERONE SUPPLEMENTS OR TO THE OVARIAN CYST OR CAN IT BE AN ADDITIONAL ECTOPIC PREGNANCY ?
I fear miscarriage, can you help me ?

Barbara: By all means, I am no expert but if you had the emryo's transfered on 2/15 and they did an u/s on 3/11...that sounds like it was too soon for them to be able to see the baby.  You could be having the pain from the cyst and it could also be an ectopic pregnancy but I doubt that.  I have taken the progesterone and yes, you can have the brown spotting.  My fertility doctors told me that brown spotting was from the progesterone suppositories were irritating my cervix and that is causing the spotting.  If you just try and be a bit more gentle with the insertion (as i did) then the spotting should stop.  Your HCG levels are looking great.  Are they not doing them every 2 days?  I would also bet that you might be carrying more than one.  Again, not an expert but going through 5 fertility cycles....I have learned alot.  Though I did not do IVF..I have learned the tricks of the trade.  I would not worry about miscarriage yet.  I truly think things are looking good.  I am sure they told you to continue the progesterone until 10 to 12 weeks.  I really disliked that part but it was all worth it.  Please email me at (***@****)  I waited 11 years for my miracle and I get so excited when other women have success with their fertility cycles.  I would like to know how things go.
GOOD LUCK!!!!
