Two days later, 6 Mar., I started bleeding. It came on what would
have been the date for my period (I have a short, but clockwork-regular
21-day cycle.)It felt essentially like a heavy period, with brownish
rather than red blood, but it only lasted 3 days instead of my normal 7.

This may have been implantation bleeding, or of course pregnancy related bleeding.

Since then, I have still felt pregnant, though I have had a negative HPT
and when I went to my OB/GYN on 18 March the urine test came up negative
(she didn't do a blood test, which was how the pregnancy was detected at
the emergency room.)
My period is also six days late. Is it possible I am
still pregnant despite the 2 negative urine tests?

Ask for a blood test to be sure! Could have been the HCG levels were either too low in the urine, this could be because you ovulated less than 14 days ago.

Is it possible my
hormones are so out-of-whack from the pregnancy that I should just do the
watch-and-wait thing?
I woulndt, if you did indeed have a miscarriage, you need to know, especially if any treatment is necessary.

Previous posts indicate the blood test is the gold
standard, but is it possible the blood test was in error?
Blood tests are extremely accurate, I would trust it over a urine test anyday.
