Polycystic ovary disease cyst mean that an ovum was not released and that instead a cyst was formed? Or, can the cyst form after the ovum is released? Thanks for answering!!
Dear Letty:
Some cysts contain an egg and others are just fluid filled blisters. When the corpus luteum forms, it can incorporate blood and fluid into a second type of cyst.
Thus, both of your suggestons are possible: a cyst can persist because the egg did not release or it can form because the egg did release and a corpus luteum forms.
