I have a few questions about Provera.  I was given a 5 day treatment in hopes of regulating my cycles. I have a period every month, but sometimes I spot for a week before and after.  My doctor said this may help regulate me, can it help bring on ovulation??  I am not sure if I have been ovulating regularly.  I do have a previous history of getting pregnant quickly, and we have been trying to conceive for 3 months now.  Also, If I am pregnant now, could taking Provera cause damage??  Will the Provera bring on a period, even if I am pregnant??  Should we use caution (protected sex) while I am taking this drug, to avoid birth defects??
Too many questions...but I need answers PLEASE!!!

I am sorry I have to disagree with something that was said. I was on a 3 month cycle and my RE put me on 5 days of Provera. Instead of bringing on AF, it did induce an ovulation 13 days after my last pill.My RE said that some women this does happen to. Some dont get their period and find they are pregnant. So good luck to you.
