My lmp was 4/14/99.  According to my calculations, I should have ovulated between 4/25 4/29.  My husband and I had intercourse on 4/25, 27 & 28 & 30.  My period is due on 5/13.  On 5/4 (around 6pm), I was at work and I felt strange so I went to the bathroom.  I was bleeding and it was like my period had begun (it was a bright red).  When I awoke the next morning, it was gone as if I had never bled.  Again, according to my calculations, it was only 20 days since my last period.  I am usually 29 days.  I went to see my GYN and I explained everything to her.  I have never stained or spotted before a period.  Also, I am frequently urinating and slightly nauseous.  She did a pap smear, another vaginal test and urine test.  She said she didnt see anything, i.e., polyps, but did notice a thin discharge.  I shouldve asked her what that meant.  So, what does that mean?  Am I pregnant? Did I miscarry?  Or am I imagining things.

The chances that you were pg and miscarried are slim.  If you O'd on the 29th, the zygote would not even have made it to your uterus and implanted by then (it usually takes 6 or 7 days). Now, if you O'd earlier than that, I suppose there is a chance that the bleeding was implantation bleeding-though I've never had that and don't know if it's common for it to be bright red.  A thin discharge could be anything-just regular healthy cervical fluid, or sometimes you get a discharge before your period starts- I think its the lining breaking down.  I wouldn't worry about it.  Just wait til you're in the clear to take a pg test!
By the way, if you'd like to answer back, I'm curious about what 'calculations'
you use.  Did your lmp start or end on 4/14?

Marie, thanks for your response.  My 4/14 was the start date of my period.  Now the way I do my calculations is that I count "down" two weeks to the day of the beginning of my period.  In other words, a week from the 4/14 was 4/21 and a week from that was the 4/28.  So I figured I must of ov'd on the 28th or 29th.  It's worked for me so far.  Well I guess I'll just wait to see if my period comes down on the 13th (hope not).  Thanks again.
