I have a 4 year old that has blood in her stools.  She has had constipation problems in the past.  Her stool is light colored with blood specks in it.  She is not a big eater, but not under nourished.  She is going through fussy stage where she only wants macaroni and cheese or mashed potatoes. She likes to eat prunes and usually drinks some water, but prefers milk.  She says it hurts a little.
Should we be concerned?
Thank you.
This could just be from passing the hard stools. My daughter had a similar problem when she was younger.  Try giving her foods that will help her have softer bowel movements.  If the problem persists, and blood is still present, take her to see her Doctor, as there could be another cause.
