Hi--I read somewhere that now that fetal heart beat can be detected
as early as 6 weeks LMP (due to vaginal ultrasound, it is not as predictive
of a positive outsome as it was when it wasn't detected until later in the
first trimester.  Do you know anything about this?

I had a vaginal US when I was 5 weeks and 5 days pregnant.  The doctor only expected to confirm that the pregnancy was located in the uterus, but we were able to get a heartbeat that early and we now have a healthy 3 year old son.
