Thank you very much for your response.  I do hope that the hcg did remain in my system to cause this chaos.  I know I have to wait for the ultrasounds and it's hard to picture any lingering hcg causing such a high level, but with me anything's possible.  Again, thank you so much for responding.  Carol





Dear Carol:
Very high levels of hCG at this early stage would be best explained by the exogenous hCG that has been administered. The half life (time for 1/2 of the concentration cirulating in blood) to be cleared from the body is 28 hours. hCG that is in fat or in any location that does not permit rapid absorption as is supposed to occur from muscle would linger and give persisting measureable hCG levels.
There is no "early test" of abnormal pregnancy or hydatidiform mole.
