I am 20 weeks pregnant and my blood pressure is 80/50. My doctor wasnt
really conserned as I havent had any problems but he was joking if I was a live.
I would like to know if this is still within normal range?
Dear Riitta-Maijja:
Blood pressure has a wide range of normal. We are more concerned with elevations of blood pressure than with low numbers. As long as you are feeling healthy, this blood pressure is normal for you.
Blood pressure does fall during the middle of pregnancy in most women. Blood pressure will be misleading if the size of the blood pressure cuff does not match the size of your arm. Blood pressure varies with position. These are all reasons a blood pressure may seem different from prior recordings.
