Dear Lori-Anne:
By my back-calculation, your egg capture was 25 November and hCG was administered 23 November. The hCG level of 124 was done on the 15th day following your hCG injection and the 11th day following the
embryoCea transfer.
For most assays, a value <5 is non-pregnant. A value of 124 is a clearly positive value consistent with pregnancy: Congratualtions!
There is no good correlation between the level of hormone and number of implanted
embryosCea. The level can be followed to look at the "doubling pattern"; again, that does not diagnose number of babies. Ultrasound imaging 4 weeks from the
embryoCea transfer is the test to define how many of the 4 transferred
embryosCea have thrived.
