SSRI's and pregnancy

I am 24 weeks pregnant and would like to know if there is any new information in the area of anti-depressants and pregnancy/breastfeeding. Prior to my pregancy I was on Paxil for anxiety and depression. I do plan to breastfeed the baby. I have recently read an article claiming the tri-cyclic anti-depressants may be safe and was wondering if that holds true for the SSRI's.

Dear Ann Marie
Most medications carry the caution that we do not have scientific data to show safety in
pregnancy. Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor (SSRI) durgs fall into this category: the tests done in animals have not shown any problems
and there are no studies in people. The experience with Prozac from women who have been on the
medication during pregnancy is reassuring: no reports of adverse effects on mother or baby.
Use the forum search and look under Prozac for more information on ssri drugs.
