Severe endometriosis

Posted By Christine C on May 05, 1999 at 15:14:39
I am forty years old and have no children.Four years ago I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis after a laparotomy was done to remove several ovarian chocolate cysts. I have been on ortho-cept since then, as well as Zoloft for PMS. My PMS has gotten progressively worse, and the last four months I have had constant nausea. I went off the Ortho-cept two months ago but the nausea hasn't improved, and my periods are unmanageable (heavy bleeding and severe pain for 7 days). So I'm back on the Ortho-cept starting yesterday. I saw a GI doc and had an endoscopy which came back normal. Blood work is also normal. I had an ultrasound of my gallbladder which showed a medium size stone, but the doctor says he doubts this is causing the nausea.
Could the nausea be caused by an ectopic pregnancy even though I had a negative pregnancy test and two heavy periods? Or could it be caused by abnormal hormonal levels which have caused the PMS and endometriosis? I'm desperate and want to have an oophorohysterectomy. Thanks so much for your time!
