The use of Heparin

The use of Heparin

My wife tested positive for Cardiolipin Antibodies after three consecutive miscarraiges. Our specialist recommended that in her next pregnancy she recieves daily shots of Heparin combined with baby asprin. This would give us somewhere in the range of a 75% chance of successful pregnancy after a heart beat is detected.
Although we would love to be able to have our own children I'm greatly concerned about the side effects to my wife with regards to the Heparin shots. If this could cause my wife serious complications to her future health the price may be too high.
Please advise with regards to Heparins' side effects relating to her health and that of the baby.
Thank you very much for your help and providing this Forum.
  Sincerely,
  Andrew.
Dear andrew:
Heparin is completely safe to both mother and baby and is commonly used during pregnancy.
The amounts of heparin given for ladies with anticardiolipin antibodies are small and side effects are very uncommon.
