Vitamin Supplements during pregnancy

by Jan-S, Oct 08, 1998 12:00AM

  Hello:
I have a mild level of anemia and am currently taking iron supplements.  I have just discovered that I am 3 weeks pregnant and would like to know if there are any adveres effects to taking them during pregnancy?
What about Folic Acid supplements, is it ok to take them during pregnancy?
  Thank you
Dear Jan S.
Both folic acid and iron are routinely recommended for women who are trying to become pregnant and as a supplement throughout pregnancy. They are safe.
