conceiving after miscarriage

by elizabeth__0, Nov 10, 1998 12:00AM

I miscarried at 10 weeks on Sept.25. There was no known cause, the fetus had never really developed. My first period since the d&c has come and gone. I should be ovulating this weekend. I feel that I am ready emotionally to try again. My question is: Will waiting for one cycle to happen be long enough? My doctor said to wait at least until I have one spontaneous period, but I've heard from others to wait at least two. Will I increase my chances of repeat miscarriage if I don't wait for one more month?
Any advice, comments, help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Dear Elizabeth:
One only requires one cycle following miscarriage for the uterus to heal and be ready to accept a new pregnancy. The key issue is emotional readiness: some ladies bring closure to miscarriage quickly and others require more time.
