enlarged lymph node in neck

my son is 4 months old.  he has an enlarged lymph node on the right side of his neck behind his ear. his doctor (hmo) said since it was not red not to worry and come back in 3 weeks.  i am worried since i thought this was a sign of some kind of viral infection. he has two pimples on the top of his head.  at one point they had a yellow head on them.  now they seem crusty.  dr could not determine what they were, but said the lymph node swelling was probably from that...baby seems healty and in good spirits.  your input is appreciated
