hCG levels - question

by Christine__0, Feb 10, 1999 12:00AM

  Thanks in advance!
Last year, I m/c after 6 months of trying (DH had a vasect reversal) and I've been tested for everything - blood tests came back normal.
I found out last Wed. I'm pregnant, and based on the conception dates, which were the 21st and 23rd of Jan, I'm around 18-20 days pregnant.  I had my hCG and prog. checked last Wed. (when I was 11-13 days pg) and it came back 28 mius and 19 for prog.
I just went in for my second hCG and prog. test and am awaiting the results.  Are these first results, being so early in my pregnancy, normal?  thank you.

Dear Christine:
A progesterone level above 15 ng/ml is normal in pregnancy. The hCG levels vary widely and the pattern of rise, a doubling every 2-3 days, is evidence of normality.
Keywords: progesterone, hCG, early pregnancy
