Dear Chrise:
I am confused as to whether you have had a
painfulPainful menstrual periods menstrual period and are concerned about becoming pregnant or your last
normalNormal saline flush menstrual period was
painfulPainful menstrual periods and you are now pregnancy.
An
isolatedIsolated sleep paralysis, painful menstrual period has no significance. Repeated, painful menstrual periods can signal problems such as endometriosis, fibroids, adenomyosis.
A painful period preceeding the conception cycle has no meaning.
Concern about this pregnancy is best addressed by clinical examination; monitor of the blood hCG level to see a normal pattern of increase; ultrasound examination to demonstrate normal fetal development.
One half of all egg fertilizations fail: one third fail before a pregnancy can be recognized; one third fail as a chemical pregnancy (the test is positive, but ultrasound shows the fetus never develops), and one third fail as a recognized miscarriage. Thus, pregnancy loss is exceedingly common and it carries no meaning for future pregnancy outcomes.
