I was on the birth control pill for about a year and a half.  I gained a lot of weight.  What specifically can i do or eat to lose all that weight?  I'm not on the pill anymore I stopped about 2 months ago.
  Help!!!!!
Dear Greysi:
The weight that is gained on a birth control pill (bcp) is no different than any other weight: it results from increased intake of calories that have been converted into storage (fat). The process needs to be reversed by decreased calories, a revised diet/lifestyle that will not repeat the calorie load that caused the problem, and an exercise program. Exercise remains a mystery: it seems to decrease appetite and hence interest in consuming calories.
There are no medications or other short cuts to losing weight gained on bcp, during pregnancy, or on any hormonal therapy.
