ovulation after birth

ovulation after birth

  Hi.
I have been charting to figur out when I ovulate following a birth in January.  My body acts like it's going to ovulate -- I get the ferticle cervical fluid over and over ... then no temp. jump.  How long do I wait before I seek further intervention to jumpstart my system?  Like Clomid or something?  I was regular before with ovulation on day 17 and period on day 31.  Thanks for any help.
P.S.  I would like to have kids close together and would like to be pregnant again in the next four months of so.
  Thanks!

Ovulation following birth can vary dramatically from person to person.  Ovulation can occur as early as 27 days after birth.  Mean time is 70-75 days post-partum for non-lactating women, and @ 190 days for women who breastfeed. I'd wait at least 6 months to consult a specialist.  They will usually not intervene with medication until you have had unprotected intercourse for @ 1 year.  GOOD LUCK
