period and preganacy(pregnancy)

  I recently had unprotected sex with my partner while i was on my period and came in me.  I was wondering what the likely hood if me getting pregnant while i was on my period?

Hi Bryt-  Unprotected sex is always a potential problem if you want to avoid a pregnancy.  Generally, if your periods are regular ( about 28 days from the start of one to the start of another) you can get pregnant sometime between 14-18 days after you start to bleed.If you have really short cycles or irregular cycles or if your period lasts a long time, it is possible to get pregnant even on your period.  If you are trying to avoid pregnancy, any of the birth control methods work.  You might also like to look into Natural Family Plsnning, which helps you identify when your "safe" time is.
  If you are late for your next period, do a pregnancy test.
