progesterone dose.

  hi,
  i took clomid 50mg and didnt ovulate.now wanna take 100mg so how much progesterone should i take to get withdrawal bleeding a.s.a.p?last time i took 5mg for 10 days and then got af 3rd day after last pill.is it necessary to take progesterone for 10 days or 5 days is ok?

The progestin or progesterone is being given to change the endometrial lining into a form that sloughs completely. In so doing, one protects the endometrium again the tendency of estrogen to cause growth, overgrowth, atypical cell patterns, and after a long time, endometrial cancer. Shorter courses of progestin do not provide this complete protection.
There is a time for "more haste and less speed".
