sitting in front of a comupter terminal

I was reading the book "what to expect when you are expecting and I read that sitting in front of terminals are really bad for pregnant women.  That you aren't supposed to be in front of it more than 20 hours a week and that it causes complications, miscarriages, birth defects etc.  Can someone tell me if they heard anything like this before?
Dear Jucinda:
The information you have read is outdated. There have been multiple, epidemiologic studies looking at all types of electromagnetic radiation, including that emitted from video display terminals (VDTs) and the majority of studies have not shown a problem. A search of the recent medical literature continues to turn up lots of titles and there continues to be no support for the hypothesis.
Keywords: video display terminals (VDTs) and pregnancy
