tubal pregnancy

by Sharon__0, Dec 18, 1998 12:00AM

  my problem:
I had an abortion in November when i was just a few weeks pregnant, i was leaving the country soon after on vacation & told a friend to check with the clinic if all had gone well...apparently it had & i was told to carry on with life as usual....which is exactly what i did until now....i'm 4 days late .is this noraml? or should i be worried? ( i am )
this was my first pregnancy, but what are the possibilities of a  tubal pregnancy? & are there any symptoms?please help.
Dear Sharon:
Following any pregnancy, the average time for return of menses is 6 weeks and it takes 12 weeks for 9/10 ladies to have resumed menstrual cycles.
An ectopic pregnancy is associated with bleeding and abdominal pain.
If the report following the abortion was that everything was normal, there is very low likelihood that you had an ectopic pregnancy.
