Anyone from the Columbus Area?

My fiance Mike got contacted about a job in Columbus, and if he gets it, we will have to move there. Is anyone familiar with the area and would be able to tell me what parts of town are "bad"? I don't want to rent a house somewhere that is really high crime, or has a lot of gang activity. I need a nice, safe, neighborhood. Any ideas or advice?

What is your opinion of the city? We are looking at an apartment complex called Heathermoor on Hard Rd. I have ALWAYS lived in the country, so naturally I am scared to death of the thought of being in the city lol

It's real nice in Westerville. Stay away from the Ohio State campus area. I just love Polaris and the Easton Mall. I have family around there. I drive 3 hrs to visit the family but the truth is, I drive 3 hrs. just to go shopping. LOL

We have a place up there and down here in Athens. My husband bases his company up there. He lives (funny to say my husband lives away from me....lol) 2 minutes from Easton Mall. It's nice there.A little place right outside the "city". Westerville is nice, Powell is expensive, German Village is iffy....
