Can Babies Feel Your Pain

Good morning or evening or day or night or afternoon ladies and gentlemen and whassup. I have heard many things about babies being able to feel their parent's emotional pain and stress and that it why some people say one way of stopping a baby criyng is to put them in your arms and stay calm yourself. In your experience, do kids feel your pain like maternal instinct, do they have a niggling feeling that something is wrong with their parent? I mean it makes sense but what do you know?

Yes, I think babies can feel the 'mood' of their parents.  We show a baby how we feel by our tone of voice, body language, facial expression, etc.  As babies are very attached to their caregivers, they would be in tune with the 'vibe' they are giving off.

When we are stressed, we show it.  We don't have to have a long discussion with someone that we know well for them to pick that we are sressed.  The sense it almost right away,  Babies are the same.  And babies are just that more connected to their parents, most often their mother.

Sometimes someone's stress can fill a room as can their joy, and anyone can feel it whether a baby or not.

Oh,  my dog is really funny.  I can sit and not act like I am paying attention to her and play a game.  I smile and her tail will start thumping the ground happily.  I frown and her tail will stop and she puts her head down.  It cracks me up-----  my DOG understands facial expressions!!  Makes me think it is instictual.
