Disney vs. Universal?

Disney vs. Universal?

My fiance and I are getting married in October. Due to vacation scheduling, we can not take our honeymoon until April. We are taking a week, and thinking of going to florida. We are debating between going to Disney World(getting ultimate park hopper tickets) or Universal Studios (Getting Flex tickets). I have been to Disney World twice and never been to Universal Studios, and neither has my fiance. So, what is your opinion? We perfer not to split our time between the two because there is so much to see and do at both, we want to get maximum time in at either park.

I've been to both and I only recommend Disney because I love it there with an ultimate passion.  I've been there about 12 times or so.  Now I can see maybe going to universal if you haven't been there before but there isn't as much to do if you are staying for a week.  Now if you were to go for a weekend then I would say Universal.  You need at least a week to go to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot Center, Blizzard Beach, MGM Studios (they changed the name for this, can't recall the new name), Typhoon Lagoon.  Universal just has two sides that can be seen in a long weekend.  You may get bored after that.  Just my opinion.

I also agree with mami1323 on going to Disney World instead of Universal Studios. Theres so much fun things to do in Disney that'll take a week to cover. My husband and I also went to Disney for our honeymoon & I absoultely Love it & never get tired of it. Univeral Studios is fun also but only for a weekend. It does get boring after a while.

I agree Disney is my pick! Me and my boyfriend will have vacation again next Feb for our 3 year anniversary and currently thinking were we should go. Disney is on the list, so is Las Vegas!! But I figure we dont have to really pick until October. Good luck with choosing where to go! I loved Disney when I went and would love to go back someday.

I picked Disney World, I have never been there, but, from all I have heard, it sounds awesome, I know I would like to go there for a honeymoon.

Disney is better than Universal. Also if you want a fun night out, try going to "Medievil Knights". It's really cool. You can look it up on the internet. I live in Florida, so I've been to most of the sights. Sea World and Adventure Island are great too!

I live pretty close to both parks. Universal has 2 parks and is a one day deal really, two days at the most. Disney on the other hand has 4 parks, so you need at least 4 days to really enjoy them. You can also maybe fit in SeaWorld in there....It offers some great shows. One tip though....If you do decide to go to Epcot (one of the disney parks), make sure you make dinner reservations way ahead of time, or you won't be able to eat at a nice sit down restaurant without it. Some are booked weeks in advance. Good luck!

Thank you all for the suggestions! I am getting so excited and the honeymoon is 8 1/2 months away! Wedding is in 3 months....so I like only having to plan one thing at a time lol

If you have never went to Disney World I would pick that first and Universal Second
There both a blast. And a hopper pass is a must. thats all we do is hop from park to
park the rocking roller coaster at hollywood studios is the best.

I lived in Orlando for 39 years, so of course I voted for DISNEY !  I was there before it opened and went to the Magic Kingdom during it's Grand Opening (it opened in 1971).  Disney will always hold it's magical place to me.  I don't care for Animal Kingdom as much, but the rest of the parks are AWESOME !

I agree with everyone that Universal Studios is GREAT, too.  BUT! ! !  If you want atmosphere - and you DO!  No place beats Disney WORLD.

I would choose Disney myself. There are many romantic spots. Whatever you choose, I hope you have a swell time.
