Now for real, the girl was so happy she would not stop screaming. Is that normal? I have watched lots of Miss Universe contests and rarely see something like this LOL

Wow,  very different competition this year.  The competition  seems to be trying as hard as they can to get this back into popularity,  and even went as far as to eliminate a very few girls at a time,  trying to cash in on the cruelty factor of other reality shows.

Anyway,  it seems a real blessing that the winner didn't actually stroke out because at one point it appeared she was about to suffer a medical calamity.

zodiac,  not to pick nits back but Miss USA and MIss America are two different competitions.   And what's the deal with your link stating 52 contestants?  There are 51.  *pick pick pick the nits*

I've watched Miss USA a few times, but not in the last 5 yrs.  If anyone's interested, Yahoo's got pictures of all the contestants.  I DID check them out, and I didn't think many of the girls were good looking at all!  Maybe, I'm nitpicking?????  LOL

Miss Universe was the one I liked the best (especially since I'm Canadian).  But way back once I was too old and married to ever aspire to be a contestant I opted out of watching.

I think it's always been on TV.  It's a great family memory for me - back in the day when they'd parade the women out in their state's costumes (Gads,  that was worth the price of admission right there!) and you couldn't tell how well they were doing in the competition until they narrowed down the 10 finalists.  Interesting,  my dad always,  ALWAYS got the winner and runner up correct after viewing the girls only once.

Popcorn,  sodas allowed in the living room . . . we really used to have fun.
