Favorite Childhood Toy?

Favorite Childhood Toy?

Ok yeah, I stole this from the Social Addiction forum. What can I say, they've got good stuff over there! Just thought I'd move it over here.
So, what was your favorite childhood toy? What about your kids?

Mine was a stuffed monkey that I slept with and used to throw in the air saying "Chee! Chee!", hence the name, Cheechee. I had that thing forever until he was so rageddy and worn.

My daughter's was a little Beenie Baby named "Bingo". That wasn't his real Beenie Baby registered name. His real name was Bernie, I think. Anyway, she just loved this thing. She carried him everywhere, slept with him, talked to him, and of course he talked to her! She was devastated when she lost him one day. She took him out with her and he got lost. We tried to tell her that he was comforting some lonely little child who found him. That didn't help. She bawled and bawled. We tried buying her another one and of course she knew it wasn't Bingo so we told her it was Bingo's baby sent to her to take care of. The things we do for our kids!

My son's was a stuffed bear that's been with him since he was born. He still has it and he's 20 now. That and his matchbox cars.
Now I'm seeing my 4 year old's favorites are matchbox cars. It's so cute.

Anyone else?

Barbie Doll - the original Barbie .. anybody remember the Twiggy doll?

also my

Bewitched barbie-type of doll

Anybody remember her ? the Bewitched series in the 60's?

I have both stored away along with all the original clothes ... however, I noted a mouse got into the box and did a # on some of Barbie's fashions!

Oh...I remember Bewitched! I wanted to wiggle my nose and make stuff happen but it didn't work for me! Can you believe that?

I love (in case you don't know this) Care Bears...I had the Care Bear Mobile..the stuffed Care Bears etc.. Also, liked the Smurfs. I don't know if they are toys or not but more stuffed animals! LOL

My 22 month old..loves his Tools! Handy Manny Cartoons and his tool benches, tool box, and anything "work" related. He has a lot of "repairs" to do!

Mine was the Pebbles and Bam Bam dolls. Question? Did anyone ever get a slinky to go down a staircase? It seemed mine didn't work at all. Rip off, ha! Just curious?

I used to have a stuffed rabbit with very soft, long ears.  I sucked my thumb while rubbing the ears of the rabbit until they wore off.

It got so disgustingly horrible that my parents (not sure which one) threw it away one day.

I cried for weeks.

Mine was a stuffed Pound Puppy named Harry. I saw my mom's male westie roll over to have his tummy rubbed one day and noticed Harry's tummy was missing a, um...penis. I was about 3½-4 years old, so I asked my mom why Harry didn't have one since he was a boy. She told me that maybe he'd have one "pretty soon."
Apparently I told a very elderly lady at a pharmacy a few days later that Harry would get one "pretty soon."
I still have Harry to this day. And he's still anatomically correct. So much for "pretty soon" for Harry.

Trevor's favorite toy is a small stuffed pug named Ozzie.
Fortunately, he doesn't have the same questions or concerns about Ozzie that I did with Harry at his age.

Mine was the "Tonka Dump Truck"; the yellow one that they ha an elephant stand on to show how indestructible it was?

I worked all summer at trashing that truck. I set it on fire, put fire works in it, tossed it off a cliff...buried it for three weeks. that was one tough truck!

(How could a child NOT take up the challenge to destroy it?!?! They showed an ELEPHANT stepping on it!!!)

Oh, I did love my matchbox cars as well. I must have had 200 of those.

I loved to color and it could keep me occupied for hours.
Beads, I loved to make things with beads.
When the leaves would change colors I would collect all the pretty ones and glue them in a book..my Mom will mail me leaves from time to time.
Bike riding, we rode bikes all the time.
My children where into video games, things sure have changed.
My youngest brother had a monkey called Zippy I think, when he would take a nap we would put him up on the couch with a ciggarette in his mouth and when he woke up he cried because Zippy was smoking lol

I loved a blue snoppy wallet. What is weird is that to this day I can still remember what it smelled like.

Mine was a stuffed animal - a basset hound I named Homer (this was well before Homer Simpson was around!).  I still have him even though both his eyes fell off and his tail is hanging on by a thread!  (I later got a real basset that I also named Homer!)  I loved stuffed animals and really felt they had feelings - I remember feeling so bad for them when I would have to put them away before bedtime - I didn't want to hurt their feelings!
