Friendship

How do you define it?  What does it mean to you?

I know people who have a very "loose" definition (from my perspective)-- and claim to have hundreds of friends.  I know many people with whom I am friendly (have big parties a few times per year) and am friendly with many people, but I view most people as close acquaintances.  A real friend to me is someone I can tell anything to and who will come out to help me with a flat tire at 2 a.m. without thinking twice (and someone I'd feel comfortable calling).  One of my closest and dearest friends is someone I've known for 18 years and I don't talk to her often (sometimes a couple of months go by between visits or phone calls), but we always pick right up where we left off and she's always there for me as I am for her.  I do have a couple of friends I talk to every day and see several times a week, but my definition of "friend" seems to be different from many I know.

So how do you view or define friendship?

A true friend is there whenever you need them and you are there for them. You can share your deepest thoughts, your good times and your bad. You have a trust between you that is unbreakable. You are lost without each other to pal around together when you go shopping. They are at home in your house and you are at home in theirs.

A true friend will accept you warts and all !! Be there when you really need them and never be too busy for you,cry with you laugh with you,and know that 1 person you can trust with your life.If you get 1 in your life you've done well.

I got a lot of friends, my very best friend bought a house right next door to me we have been friends since we was 12, here we are 34 years later still best friends Id trust her with my life.
I got about 6 other friends that are fun to be around and hang out with that I trust but its nit the same as friend no. 1

And its odd on here cause we really dont know anyone, yet i feel as though I do, maybe writting all these pms is a different way to make friends but theres about 5 on here that I pm regularly  and trust a lot.
