Is it OK to take acetaminophen every day for years for arthritis pain?

I have been taking Acetaminophen (formerly Tylenol) for many years. I take 2 650 mg tablets, 2x a day (4 tablets a day). The instructions say I can take 2 tables 3x a day. Also, the bottle says that it is for arthritic pain. Since arthritis never goes away (not curable)..I always have the pain bad unless I take these tablets which reduces the pain.

Is it dangerous for me to take these every day of my life which I've been doing for over 10 years now? I think I once mentioned this to my HMO doctor (who is now retired..and they gave me another doctor) but he didn't tell me not to take them. He tried putting my on Naproxen but  told me to stop taking Naproxen after he looked at the blood test he gave me afterwards.

You should be getting regular blood work for liver enzymes & kidneys. Also you may want to try prescription 800mg ibuprofen for anti-inflammatory & pain. They used to help me more than Tylenol but no help anymore from anyone anywhere.
