Jedi Religon!

Apparently back in 2001 a group of New Zealanders discovered that if 8,000 people registered as a member of a new religion that religion would become and official religion, recognized by the government.

So they put out the good spiritual word of The Force and...

53,000 people registered in the New Zealand Census as "Jedi" for their religion.

The Jedi Religion caught on, with people registering in the tens of thousands in Canada, Australia, and other countries.

Like many faith, they have their preachers and commandments. Some examples of their commandments are;

"Thou shalt not kiss thy sister."

and;

"Thou shalt Honor thy Father and Mother UNLESS your father turns out to be a Dark Lord."

Where can I sign up to join?  Maybe the Jedi will come to Canada - I have references - my cat's name is Anakin, my grandson is Lucas and my midiclorians are off the scale.  Why do the Jedi discriminate against the Dark Side?  I have a Dark Lord in the family.  Darn.  Let me find my light sabre.

Heh heh... actually, it sounds like the whole thing began as a lark and just took off. I think Canada has some 50,000 Jedis lonewolf, so YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!! :->

You can talk to the local Jedi Wiseman at the local Jedi Church about your issues with your Dark Sithi Lord relative. Perhaps some sort of intervention can be had. Or maybe the Jedi religion can become a two party system...?

New Zealand is contemplating making it a fineable offense to list "Jedi" as a religion in the Census, as they're irritated that it's throwing off their census statistics, btw.

I think I may go down to Toy's R Us, pick up a lightsaber, and join up. Us Americans, of course, take the cake by having a Jedis who are legally allowed to perform weddings and do marriages.

I think I'll suggest to my wife we have a 20 year vow renewal Jedi style.

But only if we can have a wookie priest!

Jedi Master Savas - we do have a few Jedi in Canada.  In fact, I just finished my training  lol  I'm not familiar with Jedi Wiseman.  Is he good with a double edged light sabre?

Not allowing Jedi as a religion is just religious persecution  lol  Just use the Force and find all the anti-Jedi.

A wookie priest would be great.  A lot better than an Ewok priest.
