Michael Jackson, Farrah, & others

I know this is going to sound bad, but I didn't feel anything when Michael Jackson died.  It's weird because I feel like the real Michael died years ago when he started changing his looks and hanging out with children.  I also don't think that the "kids" are really his biologically.  None of them look like they are mixed - just white.  I loved his music years ago but I can't say that his passing is affecting me in a sad way.  Is this abnormal?

With Farrah, we all knew she was going to die, and that she was at the end.  I remember her years ago, and she did do some great acting but then she seemed to go a little wacko at one point too.  She never seemed very bright but I don't hold that against her.  In the last 10 years, she did some pretty strange things.

I cried when Princess Diana died, and Heath Ledger.  I remember Diana caring for AIDS patients and standing up for people who had no voice.  I remember Heath and his little girl and it's sad that he was taken b/c of drugs.   I've cried when people I know have died suddenly, taken before their time.  Maybe I am just hardening up.

I feel a little more for Farrah just because she seemed so sweet on her documentary.  But with Michael, I just wondered about him for so long.  He had this great talent but it seemed like he wanted to be someone else all the time, which is why he kept having plastic surgeries.

I'm sorry that Michael & Farrah are gone but is it wrong of me to not really feel much emotion for them?

Am I the only who doesn't really care about them?

Mayflowers, look at the thread about who should get MJ's children. Teko just posted something about there being a will and that it would be revealed soon. She also said the two oldest children were possibly artificially inseminated? That does make things interesting! Still, I do think the youngest child looks like him. Don't you guys think so?

This is an answer to Barbarellas Post, yes I did his dad  laughing and also the things he was saying about MJ being the greatest pop star in the World, etc etc, I was waiting to hear how he was grieving at loosing his son,he also looked like he was having a big party the next day at the Awards. I remember Latoya coming on TV at the time I thought she was speaking out against her bother, I still feel he was an abused child him self  if he did abuse that kid and others, it was learned behavior, tell you what the mother of that child annoyed me I would never let my child sleep over in the same room as an older man and If I remember she allowed it knowingly.,Well more is coming as we speak, and it sounds as if he wasnt even well enough to do that huge tour they booked for him..

April, I also said that I didn't think they were his kids, I haven't read what Margypops said yet.  There are some mixed couples in my own family and you can tell the children carry both traits.  His first 2 kids from Debbie Rowe, look white to me but maybe it's just the pic I saw.

It was just strange to me that 2 people from my "youth" were taken away on the same day, and I didn't feel anything.  Usually I feel shock or sadness (as with Natasha Richardson, Sonny Bono, Princess Di) but I just don't.  It seems weird to me.  Maybe I've just had so many losses of my own that I'm numb.

I don't want to speak ill of the dead, they both seem like they had some issues to deal with.  Sounds like Michael had more issues than Farrah, who knows, I certainly don't.

Just goes to show you that money, talent, fame, great looks, doesn't guarantee that you will be happy and healthy.

Well, he's dead and gone now. I guess it's up to God to decide whether he's guilty or not. He's the ultimate judge.

Remember the father of the boy was a dentist.  That does not mean they'd not welcome 22 mill, but a dentist is not exactly in the poor house.

Also there were 7 more allegations of MJ molesting boys.  I did not mention it before because I did not see/hear MJ mentioning it/tak about it.

Last but not least what kind of a sister is Latoya Jackson??  I saw a clip where she came on the Geraldo show (several yrs ago) and trashed her own brother that he was indeed molesting boys, that boys would not leave his room for days.  I saw and heard that interview.  What kind of a sister is she??  Even if this were true, to come on national TV and trash her own brother??  That was by the way when all the allegations were still going on strong.

People should not be criticized for forming opinions when his own sister went on national TV and accused her own brother of molesting boys.

Actually, I was kind of talking to margypops because she said she didn't think they were his kids. Sorry about that. I should have put her name in there. It does get confusing when we get a thread going on here as to who's talking to who, lol.

Yeah, I guess I never thought about whether they could be his or not. I just assumed they were his, you know? Although, that little one looks a LOT like him to me. Does anyone else see the similarity or is it just me?

I saw a special where his friend and attorney said he paid them because he didn't want to drag it out and put the kid through all of that, etc. and that it was just easier and less painful to do that. I dunno. I don't know if that's the truth or not. I guess I just like to think the best about people!

I took it more that he knew he was beating a dead long drawn out horse and since all they wanted was money, give it to em and stop this madness. As I said before, you could well be right in your conclusions, I dont know. But that was not my impression.

If you watched the same special then surely you saw where MJ said that the reason he paid 22 mill to the parents of that boy was "so it would go away".  Why pay 22 mill when you're innocent??

To April,

I said IMO  as in "in my opinion" .  I don't know and I could careless if they are his kids or not.  As for the blond hair, I was wondering because both kids have "straight" blond hair, not curley.  Again, maybe they are and maybe they're not his kids.  Their mother for sure doesn't care about them or MJ would not have raised them by himself.

I don't know how you can think those children aren't his? Just because they have more white traits than black doesn't mean anything. It happens. I knew a black lady who was married to a blond white man and she had a fair skinned blond child.
And look at his youngest, "Blanket" is his nickname. I think his real name is Prince II, anyway, look real close at him. He looks a LOT like Michael.
I do think Michael loved those children and lived for them, just from my own observances and what I've heard.

Yes, it's a tragedy they lost a parent. I really hope Michael had a will and that the children will be well taken care of. They've gone through enough.

Michael Jackson was such a gifted artist.  He was a terribly troubled man.  As teko says, he is no threat to anyone now.  I hope his troubled soul is finally at peace.

I too watched that special you speak of, and seriously, did not draw the same conclusions at all. Michael could be all those things you say he is. I do not know. Regardless? He is dead now and will not be a threat to anyone anymore. Let em rest in peace. Hopefully we will not be judge and jury where his kids are concerned. Thats all.

What I posted was NOT what I heard from the media, but what MJ said to a reporter.  Yes, the media, MSNBC to be exact, showed it/played the video over the weekend , but it was MJ's words out of his own mouth.  What I posted I saw and heard when watching the interview.

margypops,

I have no problem with fans mourning.  However, I have a problem with MJ's father already laughing like nothing happened.  Did you see him laughing??  I mean a hearty laugh, not a smile.

I have to agree that his actions to those boys at Neverland were very weird, there was also that big payout he made,  and at the time I thought he had done the abusing especially as I heard he had also had abuse when he was a child, , I guess when I say I am sad I am sad for the Fans and the folks who did love him .I dont think that those children are his I think that DNA would prove it,I did feel sorry about Farrah as I used to watch Charlies Angles, it was light weight fun, after a hard days work it made one feel amused.,yes she did a lot of good charity work for Women.

I dont even have a comment after that, except to say. God knows the heart, all we know is what we hear from the media.

Farrah did a lot of good work for battered women, and brought attention to that issue at a time when such discussions were taboo.  She gave hope and courage to women who felt trapped.  She will be missed.

You know I felt sad about Michael sad for his Fans and sad for the family that did love him as something more than a money making machine,  I feel he was enabled by some folks around him, surely someone could have got him some more help other than pills  I also read he had a dreadful childhood and I do believe that affects us unless we can rise above it. Princess Diana affected me a lot she had a dreadful marriage  her husband had still got his long time love Camilla around imagine how that must feel,so she then did the *** for Tat thing, she was wonderful in a lot of the good works and charities she did and was genuinly interested in helping others, I think she had a rough time from other members of the Royal Family, For Me I do feel compassion for them all.,One common factor  even Elvis and Marilyn whahever their financial staus , they were very mixed up folks, Anna Nichol was another one.

Yes, they both had good points, and value as people, but what I'm saying is that they dont' feel like losses to me the way that Princess Diana or even someone like Marilyn Monroe who dispite her sex symbol persona, seemed to be able to connect with the common folk.  I also felt a deep loss when John Kennedy Jr died.  He was so likeable.

Michael Jackson had a great talent and his early music is really beyond compare, but how much of it was original and how much was written for him?  I feel like people used him and no one stood up for him.  So, dispite all his money, talent and connections, never got the help he needed.  I don't even know if he even had any real friends.   He reminds me in a way of Howard Hughes - just got stranger the older he got.  And would have kept getting that way.

People used to call him Wacko Jacko, all the late night hosts made fun of him as well as the media, and now they are all turning around and paying tribute and acting all sad and choked up.  It's all very hypocritical for them to now be paying him tribute when no one stuck up for him during all those accusations of abusing kids, etc.  I never heard one person step up and say he didn't molest those boys.

Farrah did step up to the plate with her cancer, sharing her struggles with the world.  But before her cancer, what did we hear?  We heard about her wacky appearance on David Letterman, her son being addicted to heroin, her refusal to marry Ryan.  All she ever seemed concerned about to me was her looks and  what made her feel good.  The Burning Bed was great, but I still saw her as being a little selfish.

The media has obviously played a big part on my feelings towards these people and their character.  They played on their weaknesses and that's disqusting.  And here I sit making judgements about people I don't even know and that's so wrong.

This is why it's bothering me, they passed and I don't feel a "loss" for the world.  I think it's normal to feel a loss and shock but I don't feel it.  Why?  Is there something wrong with me?

Of course, I wish they hadn't passed away and it would have been great if they got better help and support while they were here.  I wish their families well and hope they both find the peace they searched for their entire lives.  May they rest in peace.

Michael Jackson. One of the greatest artists in music history. Just like Elvis Presley. Some say that Elvis is alive, going to Graceland is a must if you should ever plan a vacation nearby. It wouldn't surprise me if it becomes the same way with Michael Jackson.

I'm saddened. Another legend has passed away, but his music has come to last forever. His way of dancing is going to last forever. I think there are many in this world who agree with the ones who call him King of Pop.

May the memory of him always be alive and may he rest in peace

I think MJ was one of the greatest talents ever lived. I am amazed at his frail appearance and apparent insecurities as well as his oddities off the stage. Then when he performed, this strong, seemingly confident and in command person emerged. I fee great sadness that he was in a prison of sorts while he was here and I think the media added greatly to that, as they are now.

Farrah always struck me as fluff until she made the show the burning bed, and showed her inner strength battling an ugly disease the last 3 years. She has been upstaged again by the media.

Elvis Presley was in my life as a teen and I was really saddened when he died the way he did. He was my icon. So, I guess we all have one, somehwere.

When I die, I wont even make the local newspaper, but that is okay with me. I consider that a great gift after watching the trainwreck before us.

I liked everything you said and agreed with it too!!  Compassion for all of those who are left behind and for all the suffering they (MJ & Farrah) endured before death, is required of us. I don't know the whole story on Billy Mays, whether he suffered, but, compassion goes out to his family as well...

I think I started to have a little more compassion when I heard his long time friend (and attorney I think?) talk about Michael and how he grew up in an abusive home, physically and mentally and that he had a lot of self loathing and that's why he thinks he kept changing his look. I think that may be why Michael could relate to children better, too, because he didn't trust too many adults. I think Michael had a hard time relating to the world. He grew up on the stage but he couldn't relate to people, especially people who would be cruel. That just made him withdraw more.
I personally don't think he molested any children. I think he just loved children and wanted to be a child again himself. It's tragic, really, if you think about it. I think he had a sad life. He had fame and glory but still a lot of problems as we see with a lot of celebrities.
This is how I look at it, he and Farrah were still human beings with human souls and just as precious to God as any other human being and deserving of our respect whether they are still here on this earth or gone on.
One thing that really bugs me is when people make fun of someone after they have died. My teenage daughter told me friends were texting jokes about Michael after he died and I told her that was just wrong. I don't care who the person is, no one should joke about the person after they've died. I'm not saying you did, though, Mayflowers.

I just think all people deserve respect and compassion, especially after they've died. I didn't know these people personally either, or the latest, Billy Mays, but I feel for the families who have lost their loved ones. Like I said, every life is precious.

I don't think you are weird for feeling as you do, you are just being honest. I know my dad feels the same way, he said he guesses he is the only one that does, but I told him that I bet a lot feel the same way.
