My favorite part was Pres. Obama telling all of us to be responsible. We are part of the problems in this country and we have the ability to fix it as well! Not just our leaders! So many people forget that.
I did not vote for him, but I will respect him and pray for him. I pray he does well!
I'm somewhat skeptical with some of what he's already signing - but I'll give him a chance.
Thank you Michael for these words. I'm sure there are many that have the same thoughts as Vance. What they don't understand is, that President Obama took on a real mess , but he has the ability to get it going in the right direction. President Obama's speech was to the point, and whether one voted for him or not you have to admit that his speech was inspiring. I look forward to the future with President Obama at the helm.
gentle hugs

Well, at least you have an open mind even if you aren't interested in what is going on around you.
President Obama doesn't need to win you over. Don't you get it yet?
He's the President of the United States of America.
I also pray that he is a great leader but 2 things are going against him. 1. He is very liberal and 2. The media and alot of the American people have built him up to such a high stature their is nothing he can do but fall.
The problems in the country were created in a large part by Congress and nothing has changed there.
Did I watch his speech...no. Why because I differ so much with him in political idology that I don't care what he says he needs to show action to win me over.
well at least for the next 4 years amybe 8 years this man is going to get very little sleep and i feel bad for him i am wondering if the full brunt of his office and what he has taken on has hit him yet the parties are over now it's time to do it or get off the pot as they say
I pray for our countries sake that he is the best president we have ever had, i am just afaird with all the troubles the country has he will not be given the chance to govern and that would be very sad
I forgot to add, they said that was the highest turnout and the most people there watching him give the speech.
Yeah he's got a lot at stake.... I hate to be him...
The poem to me seemed to be about how each of us is the result of history and we are living the dream our ancistors worked for. That's what I got out of it. Yes the speech was very serious. I think they said the crowd only cheered about three times or was it five?
It was because his speech is a call for action. Yes he does have quite a mess on his hands... He's got not only the weight of the U.S. on him, but the entire world.
No pressure there!!!!! I'm glad I'm not in that spot right now....
i think he ment it to be somber so the american people relize how much of mess he is taking over... yes we made history today and thats great for our country... but starting tomorrow i am afaird you will see the back biting and **** that goes on all the time in DC....
I liked his speech it seemed to be from the heart
watched it all again, MJ I loved the poem I sat quietly this time and digested it I bet you liked it, what did you think ,very thought provoking. Some parts of the speech wre good but tell you what wasnt the best I have heard but it worked for us all I think...
As far as the speech goes, it felt like he didn't only speak to the American people. He spoke to the world. He's so fully aware of how serious this is. He knows it is going to take time to get the US on the right track again, but most of all he expresses that he knows what he's doing. I'm not American but I know he's going to write history in many ways.
It was a call to get to work, to take action. Do what we can... He refrenced various points in history to illustrate what we have been through and that we can get through this as well. It was modivational alright. What did anyone think about the peom?
Wow. That was one of the most conservative inaugural speeches I've ever heard - echoes Ronald Reagan. Most of it was basically, "we are a nation built on blistering hard work, and reward the hard workers, so get to it".
Works for me. I didn't hear any of the former philosophy of we're going to open the employer's wallets and throw the money at the less wealthy employees, which I think is pretty much what got him elected.
Inspirational. I hope America moves forward in a positive direction. For all of us.
Yes I watched it all and from a really early hour here, I will have to fully digest the speech again,I found it interesting I think, and somewhat lacking ,however I am gaad we have a fresh start and a chance to make America what it has always been , I blubbered through some of it reminded me when I got sworn in as an American citizen, I am madly patriotic, so I am going to watch the speach again and see what I feel .
