alikat; you probably aren't in a swing state. The only political junk e-mail I get is forwarded from my father-in-law, who is a political obsessive. :)
Jollyman; I should have clarified.

The VP only exercises this right if there is an equal number of repub's and dem's in the senate (or if the vote splits due to abstentions or crossing of party lines).
So, you aren't wrong, but to call herself "In charge of the senate" is a gross overstatement. The VP would only have a deciding vote in the above circumstances.
It tends to be a rare occurance, from what history shows (this equal split). As you can see, it doesn't come up all that frequently, at least in this latter half of the century.
I need to rent a dump truck to get rid of ALL my political junk mail!
i have not gotten one single piece of political junk mail. ???? i am being left out -WAH! lol, i don't know why, but i haven't!
Ugh, yes!! I am so tired of junk political mail! I have not received any Presidential, but plenty of local and state. I am so SICK of the tv ads that air during the news. Every single commercial is ''so and so did this'' and ''so and so voted on this tax, should you trust them?...blah blah blah" I personally have seen enough!!
My husband and I were also wishing that once we mailed our ballots that it would trigger a stoppage of junk mail and political ads on the TV and radio. Wouldn't that be swell?
We are rural, so we vote by Absentee and have done so already. Yet I still average 3 mailings a day...
But, I digress. Getting back to the original post, I did read that article Peek. Speaks volumes, I think. Thats all I'll say. Whatever will happen will happen. Can't get too up in arms about.
seeing posts like these just make want more of these election years
its Peeka-WHO..
I try to stay of of political debates, not my thing, but I have to agree that the thought of Sarah Palin possibly being president scares me. I echo the sentiments of Matt Damon, if any of you have seen his comments, if not U-TUBE it.
I have to agree with Plateletgirl, Mccain chose himself over his country, he just wants to win the election. He should have thought a little more, I feel it was a quick move to get ppl's attn, which it did. However, I think she is hurting his campaign now more than helping.
And, I just have to say, I love the impressions that Tina Fey has done of her. Impeccable impersonation, really. I crack up every time.
Yes peekahoo, i will take that as a compliment? Sorry you could not uderstand. But i won't insult back.
Obama has the same appearance and manner as Malcom X
Obama appears to be trying to broaden his support to people of all races and ethnicities--a necessity if he is to win the presidency--it is CLEAR that he is especially attractive to Blacks, just as was Malcolm X.
No I am NOT a Obama supporter. The man plain scares my husband and I. Who wouldn't be after all the truths that have came out about him.
I agree 100% with Colin Powell. It is obvious that Sarah Palin is not qualified to be vice president. I am very concerned about this and especially concerned that John McCain would pick Palin, just so that he could win the election. He chose himself over our country.
Here is what the people in Japan think about Palin.

Writing styles certainly speak volumes about someones' political leanings, doesn't it?
Snoozies, I haven't the faintest idea what you were trying to get across in your post. Could you please try again?
I'm sure its not flattering towards Senator Obama, but if you could try again to make your ideas clear, I'd appreciate it.
And please, while you're at it, clarify what you mean by Malcolm X and Obama. Is there some relation we should all be aware of? Besides their color?
Thank you.
I still think Sarah deserves at least 15o thousand outfit from the GOP...After all Obama has received 600 Million from...umm..umm lemme think. oh yea that he is hiding 2. Can you spell ACORN? Bill Avery, Malcom X, not to mention his stellar guidance by his past minister he was with for 20 years...then Obama dropped him like a hot tommale' after he started spewing his beliefs and truths. GOsh wonder why he left that chruch. 20 years to late
the VP is the president of the senate and they are the tie breaking vote
Heh heh...
Just so people know, I think she's confusing what happens when there's a total even split in the senate. Then the VP acts as House Speaker, which is normally a position that goes to the senate majority party (If I'm remembering correctly).
Honestly, she makes me wish fondly for Dan Quayle.
you all need to get a life
I read it, boy, that was really fairy tale hour. She`s probably getting ready to reinvent the constitution.
ROTF (you know the rest!)
