What If .......
What if [ you fill in the blank ]
I was inspired by the post that Swampy did about our grandparent's names which made me thing "What if" .. as in looking back in your own history and the history of your family .. What if [ you fill in the blank ]

Okay I could probably do a million of these, seriously!
What if I never moved out of my mom's house when I was 16? I wouldn't have become a Christian and I would probably have 3 kids with 3 different fathers. Thank goodness my life has changed!!!!!!!!!!!
*I moved out when I was 16 because of a huge fight. I moved 6 hours away from Iowa to Missouri. I lived in my oldest brother's basement and watched his kids for him all the time. I finished highschool, worked full time at a nursing home, and practically lived at my church where I eventually became an intern and met my husband on a missions trip! And I reconciled with my mom before she passed away.*
Sometimes we are given a hard lot in life and go through so many hardships and heartache, but the end result is usually something beautiful that has shaped us into a stronger and more lovely person. I emphasize the word "usually" because of course there are others who became harder and bitter. Anyway, all of that to say that even if bad things hadn't of happened I wouldn't be in my wonderful home, married to an amazing man, with 2 beautiful babies!

What if I wouldn't have waited 15 minutes for my ex boss to open the doors to the cell phone place so that I could make my payment. I wouldn't have gotten the job in the IT department and wouldn't have started my path down my IT career.
Also what if my mom would have left my dad for his best friend. I wouldn't have been born. Well some say I am his. My mother laughs and says I will do a DNA test to prove you are not his.

I think if most of us had been wise enough to listen to out parents the world would be very very different...they really did know best...I know I do and my teens dont listen much to my wise advice,
What if I had gone to Japan with an attorney I worked for as his nanny for his children - I wouldn't have met and married my hubby! I shudder thinking about it!
I had listened to my parents when i was younger i may have made some different choices in my life.
What if I hadn't been laid off in the early 1980's recession? I wouldn't have met my ex-husband, had a wonderful son, moved to this area, or met my husband who is the love of my life. We need to treasure the negative things in life as they always lead to better things.
My husband and I would have never had this house built 9 years ago,,,would we be happier in the 3 bedroom ranch we used to live in that would have been paid for by now? I think so this house is too big we dont use some of the rooms,,hindsight is indeed 20/20
What if my grandmother had accepted the engagement ring from the guy who was the son of Seilheimer Root Beer Soda in the early 1900's ? Seilheimer was a big soda company back then .. not even sure if it is around still .. I highly doubt it. I guess I wouldn't have been born.
Remember "back then" you could get soda delivered to your house by the case and milk delivered to your milkbox and the breadman came with your bread while the knife sharpener came during the summer ringing his bell thru the streets like the ice cream man.
What if those simple things in life would have remained. Oops .. two answers. here.
