What's the scariest movie you have ever seen?

by tbabi20, Oct 28, 2009 10:11PM
Amityville Horror freaked me out alot because right when I think they said this house is messed or something like that our actual lights in our house went out. It came back on but I looked at my friend and I was like check to see if the lights will go on again. I will always remember that lol. It was jokes.

I AM LEGEND wasn't really scary but made me think about stuff. This movie is my main reason for not getting the H1N1 shot lol j/k j/k..

Candyman messed me up as a child. My brother held me up to a mirror after that movie and made me say Candyman a bunch of times. I slept with the lights on for a whole week.

I am someone who is not scared of blood or guts or violence in scary movies, i just don’t like scary PSYCHOLOGICALLY disturbing stuff that robs me of my ability to walk to the damn bathroom alone at night in the dark! I need to be functional! I mean big special effects and computer graphics, and blood skeeting everywhere doesn't really make horror movies scary to me. What’s scary is the IDEA of it. It's  the high “freak-out” factor to me...

What's the scariest movie you have ever seen and what one will forever be your favorite?

Ya.. Hannibal Lecter is messed and pretty creepy. Sometimes when I phone my brother I'll do his voice and call him Clarisse. lol

by Myown, Oct 29, 2009 12:29AM
:o) yeah hannibal - the acting was very believable, scary stuff. I don't think I could sit through that movie again.

by TrudieC, Oct 29, 2009 07:06AM
I actually screamed the most in Fatal Attraction.  Silence of the Lambs was a close 2nd.

by turkee23, Oct 29, 2009 07:16AM
aminville horror was freaky!!! its funny that family's name is DeFeo and thats also my sisters last name, and she was born in Ny i used to tell her all the time that was he long lost uncle or something.....she used to get pissed at me!//... i think all the based on true stories movies are the scariest.....

i think that the Halloween movies are scary , Michael Myers.....the shining was freaky too "HERE"SSS JOHNNNNY"

I agree "Silence of the Lambs", "Hannibal", and"Sleeping with the Enemy".Oh!
that was really creepy.

I saw "The Excorcist" when I was younger with some friends. At that time it was a really freaky movie. My younger brother knew I was going to see this movie. He set me up. He had a yoyo that glowed in the dark once heated by light. I came in, went to bed and when I laid down to cover up......the 2 eyes glowing in the dark were right above in the light shade. Needless to say, I screamed and he was laughing in his bedroom. Oh Yea!
I came real close to having poop in my underwear. LOL I'll never forget it.

by swampcritter, Oct 29, 2009 12:13PM
In terms of most frightening, Swampy goes with The Vanishing, and Alien.

However, Swampy has never seen The Exorcist, or Jaws, both of which are acclaimed for their fright...

The Town that Dreaded Sundown is a personal favorite of mine.  So creepy.
My Husband then BF left the movie Seven at my apartment while we where dating.  I watched it while I was alone. Needless to say I didn't sleep that night and had to watch Forest Gump about seven times in a row to get the movie out of my head!

by gokuangel, Oct 29, 2009 03:57PM
The Grudge-I hate this movie! something about lil kid "monsters" really gives me the heebie jeebies!
Other than i would say One Missed Call! this one really scared me and i almost had nightmares!

by jollyman069, Oct 29, 2009 10:37PM
Silence of the Lambs was a very scarey and nasty movie, The Exorist is right up there and and oldie but goodie..The Night of the Living Dead....

by iam1butterfly, Oct 29, 2009 11:12PM
I saw "The Exorcist" when it came out in the theaters in the early 70s...
and, I've never been able to watch it ever since.

I would say the original version of "Halloween". Its relatively restrained given the genre and when I watched it when I was growing up it did frankly scare me. One you might want to add to your Netflix queue that's more obscure is "Carnival of Souls". Its not very well know but inspired "Night of the Living Dead" but without the gore. Also a few older ones by Alfred Hitchcock. I'd definitely say "The Birds". To me suspense is better than gore by far. I enjoyed "The Blair Witch Project" the first time I saw it but after that it got old but I did like the idea..

I still remember the kids being tied to the tree and he put the blade on the slide of the trombone.......and the last pic is his shoes walking by the train........i am going to throw the covers over my head now!!!!!  I cant believe someone else has seen this!!!  You are the first person EVER to say you did!!!!!!!!!

by mami1323, Oct 30, 2009 08:39AM
The Exorcist hands down.

by mami1323, Oct 30, 2009 08:39AM
Poltergiest was a close second though.

by April2, Oct 30, 2009 09:48AM
Do you know they said weird things happened on the set when they were making "The Exorcist?" It freaked them out too. I wouldn't want to mess with demonic things! We just don't know enough about all of that and don't take it seriously. There really is evil spirits out there as well as good (angels).

When I was a teen and into my 20's I watched scary movies just because my boyfriend would drag me to them! I never really enjoyed them and would have nightmares afterwards. I won't do it anymore.

As for the scariest, I think the Freddy Krueger movies were scary, "Nightmare on Elm Street". For some reason, that scared me that he'd come to you in your dreams. Makes you not want to sleep!
Ugh, I won't watch this stuff anymore. Give me a good chic flick or comedy any time, lol.

by megochick101, Oct 30, 2009 05:49PM
UGh the grudge freaked me out, only because of the child in it. children in scarey movies jsut makes me have nightmares ooh.

what's the one with the devil child who tries to kill his mother? I think his names Damien The newer one anyway i saw in theaters and screamed many many times, especially when they were in the cemetery and that freaking dog jumped out of nowhere ugh.

by April2, Oct 30, 2009 05:56PM
You're thinking of "The Omen". I remember that one!

Andromeda Strain. Now that really freaked me out. I was 12 at the time and I was paranoid the whole world would get that weird strain of blood disorder that turned the blood to dust. Had nightmares for years!

by zodiacqueen, Nov 04, 2009 11:31PM
The 2 movies that freaked me out the most were that Emily Rose movie and Outbreak.  The movies based on true stories are the scariest!!!!

BTW-Paranormal Activity was a great movie.  Got into a debate w/ my friend on whether it was real or not!!  LOL

by Cherie762, Nov 05, 2009 12:37PM
