blogging

well i would love to get started on blogging and eventually onto freelance writing. no i don't have a degree in writing but from what i understand you don't necessarily need a degree. my problem is i have no idea where to get started. or how. does anyone have any experience in blogging/freelancing?

I have no idea how to get started with blogging except that you'll need your own website I would imagine.  Other than that, just play it by ear.  Perez Hilton started out as a blogger - maybe check out his site and see what he does?  
I also do not have a degree in writing, but started writing a book.  I've always wanted to be a journalist.

i'm also writing a book!!! it's taking me a while, the kids seem to soak up my creative juices anymore lol. i've got a few chapters done but not nearly close to being finished. what are you writing about?

I have a blog that I've neglected, but it's really easy.  All you have to do is find a website like livejournal or blogspot. (I have used both) . Write up whatever you want to get published, then you can post it.  Both livejournal and blogspot have settings where you can write somethign and make it public or private.

As far as designing it, you can choose from some automatic templates or find some on the net.  There are guides to help you figure things out.  I managed to put a background image for my blogspot blog.  Whenever you alter the html code, it helps to check in different web browsers to see how it looks.  Sometimes something can look good in ie, but look really bad in another browser.


I used to use talentdatabase for showing off my art, but they seem to have went under....kind of a shame...I think I will have to use my blog for showing off the stuff that I formerly had on that website.  thanks for the reminder for me to upload something for Memorial Day (a new-ish picture of one of my characters.)
