can you clean too much?

so i've become quite the clean freak as i got older. it drives my husband crazy. i'm ALWAYS cleaning something. whether it's dusting, vacuuming, laundry, making beds, picking up toys, scrubbing, dishes...etc etc etc.

my question is.....do you think a person can clean too much?

my house is clean but cluttered here and there and there is usually one dirty room, cant keep up with the sloppy big boys and their million  friends, but this too shall pass, someday i will miss the sticky handprints on the walls and not seeing dirty socks on the floor as for the origional question I dont want to wallow in filth but I want to spend quality time with my kids rather than worry about scrubbing the floor which I currently have given up on I sweep thats it,,, LOL

the car is a different story. that's the "mans domain" so i'm not allowed to touch either of them. lol. i tried cleaning them out a few times and the hubby said "WOMAN THAT IS MY AREA!!!! DO NOT TOUCH!!!!!"

my moms house drives me nuts. she works 6 days a week 12-18 hours a day. so when she did stay there and i'd go visit...i'd go nuts on cleaning. lol. i think that's why she'd have me go over. lol.

LOL, Oh my, I am a "Felix" for sure. I hate a mess, in fact, I won't go to bed if there are dishes to be done or some things that need to be straightened. I always make my bed and I clean thoroughly once a week and vacuum twice a week.

I am such a neat freak, even my closet is spotless, I did not know there were others out like me until I read this thread, well, "Clean Freaks" unite, LOL, there is nothing wrong with a nice, clean home, maybe, I, too, have OCD, but, oh well, at least when my home and car is clean, I am happy.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention, my car is spotless to, he he.

Maybe I should have a cleaning business like Teko, maybe this would get the clean bug out of my system, I doubt it though, I used to be a hospital housekeeper a long time ago, and I was still a clean freak at home, oh well.

our house was....not messy but not spotless growing up. but it was when i'd go to visit. especially family their houses were a MESS!!! i'm talking filth and grim. it was and still is DISGUSTING!!! i never understood how anybody could live like that. like right now the messiest part of my house is the living room and that's because that's where the boys toys are. so there are toys everywhere. they do get put away at nap/bedtime everyday. (they love dumping over the toy basket). i just....really can not stand a mess.

lol...I hate messes too.  When I was growing up, my parents house was always a mess.  Piles of papers and what not Everywhere.  That sort of environement makes me feel confused.  I like things straightened up and neat.

I used to drive my SIL crazy.  Her house was a shocking Mess with tons of empty soda cans on her living room table, among other things.  I stopped by one March and there was still Xmas paper on the floor!  I couldn't concentrate on our visit until I grabbed one of those large black trash bags and cleaned up!  OCD?...lol, maybe...

i can't help it. i HATE messes!!! i can't even fall asleep if i know there are dirty dishes. lol. i feel bad because it does drive hubby crazy...but it drives me crazy knowing something is dirty!!! and i'm completely ocd about bedding. i can not stand dirty sheets/blankets!!!! our sheets are washed at least once a week. all blankets every other week. the boys bedding is washed once a week or as needed (i have peepee monsters who sometimes have accidents....) *sigh* is there a cleaning anonymous out there? a support group for those who can't get enough of it? lol

I also agree that it's possible to clean too much. I organize and clean everything which drives my friends crazy.

Yes, I believe that it is possible to clean too much as well. I believe that I can sometimes drive my Parents crazy about having my room nice and neat, but I think I'm getting a little bit better. ;)

LOL! I have to laugh at your post!  I too drove my family crazy!  So, I got me some cleaning supplies, had some cards made and off I went to make my own career. It is actually quite lucrative and now, my family is at peace!  Now, I am too tired from cleaning everyone elses house that when I get home, I couldnt care less about my own.  Now everyone is happy!
