Any birders out there? I have a problem with grackles dropping the waste of their youing, in and around our pool. This started a few yrs ago when our pine trees got to be about 30 feet tall. They are nesting in the trees. Short of cutting down the trees, what can we do to discourage their behavior?
For some reason I am only seeing this now. The problem has passed, it is only during the nesting season, but I wish they wouldn't use my pool as their waste dump. It is more the cement around the pool, than the water.
No, they aren't year round. They come in April and build their nests using the pine needles on the ground. Maybe that is my solution...rake up those needles, then they will build elsewhere. They are gone in July.
