Hi people....this is me just rambling....Are there times when you feel like nothing is going right, I know that life is always peaches and sunshine but I feel like I'm lost. and tired of being in pain all day long.

Ok enough about that....New subject: Has any one read any new books?

I read a book called "The Shack" by Wm. Paul Young.  It is a book that answers the question "Where is God in a world so filled with unspeakable pain?"  It is about a man whose daughter is abducted and murdered and he does not understand why this has happened to him and why the pain is so strong.  HE receives a note from God inviting him to the shack for a weekend.

Very good book and has received great ratings.

Most of what I read is non fiction. Sometimes classic literature and occasionally poetry but one read I'd suggest is Oliver Sacks "Musicophilia". I also liked "Awakenings". Not only did both help me understand aspects of my disability (still under study) they are entertaining reading although scientifically informative especially "Musicophillia".

I just read Nora Robert's newest "Vision in White"  It's hilarious and it's serious and just a fun read.  Now I am reading her Alter ego JD Robb "salvation in death".  I love writers that give me a new family.  Same characters from book to book.  I read all of Clive Cussler...Matthew Reilly....Jack DuBrul...Lincoln and Child. I could go on and on... I love to escape from real life and all of its current problems.  I'm thinking about just reading thru the rest of this year and just starting again on New Years... : )  Not really.

How wonderful it is to see so many love to read . I have spent my life reading stories usually to children I have to add with a few grown ups thrown in, doesnt the title ;Musicophillia have a ring to it, I must read it, I do most of my reading at night,. Let me ask you all something, are you like me I get addicted to it, cannot put the book down will read for weeks everything I can, then I am kind of burnt out for a while (like 3 weeks) dont read at all.. miss it, so the start again. When I get new books in I try to read them especially the Antiques, but I cant read them all so now I kind of pick through, choose interesting bits...

I love Sundays...I can pick up a book early in the am and read it til it's done.  No I don't do that very often, but would love to.  I have a hard time putting a good book down.  I have yet to get unaddicted to books, but I do realize I have a lot of other stuff to do.  Unfortunately.

Try Geneen Roth - 2 books - the one I've already read (4 times)  "If You Eat at the Refrigerator, Pull Up a Chair"; and the one I'm currently reading "Feeding the Hungry Heart".

They have to do with the "diet/no diet" idea - I'm currently going with the "no diet" and this week lost 3 pounds...... Not sure if it's "real" loss or if those pounds will "show up" again in a day or two, but at least I haven't gained anything.

But that's NOT really the point - these books help with other things - like self esteem, etc.

Take a chance - give 'em a try........................................

I just read "Sabrina" by Lori Wick. It's placed in the 1880 and 1881and about a former prostitute who is confronted by a police officer, Danny, and he and his wife, Callie, befriend her. Because of their kindness she walks into a new life in Christ. But the min in Sabrina's past keep on finding her so she has little choice but to leave Denver and ends up in Token Creek in Montana Territory. She reaches out to the people in that area the way Danny and Callie did to her. Someone else reaches out, and she finds herself falling in love, but she is convinced she's all wrong for him.

I'm reading A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court by Mark Twain. I thought it wouldn't be that good, but I like it. I'm also reading the Andromeda Strain by Michael Crichton. I just started ch. 3 and so far it's been pretty good. Those are both for school; the one I'm reading for fun is Wicked by Gregory McGuire.

I love to read, and have been doing a lot of it since my computer has been in the shop. I love Pioneer stories by Janette Oke, and good, wholesome, clean, Christian Romance stories, Grace Livingston Hill writes great ones.

Yes, I get tired of being in pain daily, some days I feel like it is hopeless, but, then, I usually cheer up and realize how much the Lord blesses me, but, at times, it is hard.
