growth of an organ

growth of an organ

I believe any organ in the body can grow back.  Since, I am not a scientist nor in the medical field I wouldn’t know the capabilities of achieving such an idea. I believe the electrical signals of the body can alter DNA at the cell level.  At the brain level, the brain signals may be able to alter the already existing cells in the body to specifically grow a removed organ.  In order to achieve this, I believe a combination of hormones would need to be administrated to an individual to provide the circumstances to support the growth of the specific organ.  I may be mistaken but each area of the brain is associated to a particular organ as is particular areas of the spinal cord that may need to be stimulated as well.  I am sure out there are those small percentages of patients that have experienced their organ regrow.  It would be nice to study the particular situations that those patients were under that led to the regrowth and recreate those situations.
All things are possible with God at any time and miracles happen every day even if some within the science community isn’t always very open to accept God.
I post this idea knowing that someone out there might consider it and achieve it.  What are your thoughts on the possibility of this?

Hi Helen,
I'm interested if you have had any luck with this or any tests... I'm in the same boat, and I've also seen some stories on the internet where people have claimed to grow their thyroid back.  I wish I had never let them remove mine.

I can understand why you'd want to believe what you do, but at present there's only one organ known to regenerate: the liver. The remaining organs simply do not "grow back." This has nothing to do with accepting God or religion or spirituality; most physicians and many researchers are believers. But life works the way it works, sometimes to our great frustration and disappointment.

What may become possible someday is tissue/organ regeneration using stem cells or other available tissue from you or a donor combined with the knowledge being gained from the Human Genome Project and similar research efforts underway around the world. So eventually scientific breakthroughs may allow for replacing damaged or diseased kidneys, lungs, bones, etc.
