Albumin and Creatinine

Question was recently hospitalized and was passed much higher than normal rates of these chemicals. I have a vague understanding of what they are, doctors didn't have much to say about it either anyone know more about these chemicals and passing them in urine. I studied albumin in school creatinine not so much i know its a protein. Is that the liver breakdown chemical of meat in the diet so it would be the same to say im passing protein in my urine? Also diagnosed with bein in stage 3 of end stage renal failure ( prob from the ungodly amount of stones i pass) with my GFR being about 55% ( think thats right acronym had to give my test results to a doctor but i think it stands for glomercular filtration rate if im not mistaken excuse me if im incorrect). Have another urethroscopy to look forward too >< now I've heard of lithotripsy being done by other people on this site but i was told by the 4th urologist I've seen its just not an option for me i have far too many that range in various size that it would be ineffective. Anyone know more?

Hello! I don't pass as many stones as other people I know with MSK but I do have multiple small (1-4mm) stones in both kidneys. My urologist said that lithotripsy was an option for me, but not a good one. I believe that the success rate is around 80%, whereas the success rate for cytoscopy is around 95%. To me, my choice was easy... why would I put myself through something that has a lower success rate, and I still have to pass out the stone fragments. I'm not ruling it out, as I had a unsuccessful cytoscopy in July. They were only able to remove 1 stone because some had passed from the last scan, and the rest were too imbedded in my kidney.

I was simply told I just have far too many for it to be effective. It was funny looking at my CT it was something like 8 large stones in right kidney and... far too many to count in the left. Anyone have further knowledge on those chemicals? I know passing protein in the urine can be a sign of kidney infection or perm damage to the glomercular in the kidneys. I just want to make sure thats the case

So with all my medical books and the fact im a nursing major through several hours of studying and researching this is what i've discovered. Passing these chemicals is a good indication of damage to the kidneys. Due to the fact most of us are on diuretics and such if anything creatinine levels should be lower than normal not higher. Low albumin levels can also indicate kidney damage. Both are proteins that are naturally passed by the body. High albumin levels would indicate dehydration, while high creatinine levels indicate damage to GFR. If you're on diuretics its normal for creatinine levels to be low especially if your a woman, whereas men should have slightly higher due to increased skeletal mass. So all this is just reinforcing what i was already told. Figure I'd answer my own question just incase someone also received these results.
