Medullary Sponge Kidney?

I had a CAT scan done with IV contrast on Tues.  

I got the results but have not seen my urologist yet. I dont see her until next week.

The report says that I possibly have MSK.  I do have a kidney stone in my left kidney approx 2mm.  I have had flank pain for ALONG time!

Was diagnosed in 1998 with interstitial cystitis.  Is it possible that I was misdiagnosed after all these years?

I pee ALOT. Sometimes it is really bothersome to pee and then 5 mins later have to go again.  I dont think I've ever had a UTI.

I had a urine test last week that showed glucose in my urine, but was unable to find that as a symptom when I looked up MSK.  IT also showed WBC's and bacteria, but the lab was unable to get bacteria to grow in a clean catch sample.

I went for the CAT scan because I am having abdominal pain near my right ovary. The CAT scan didnt show anything for the abdominal pain at all. Of course!

Is there any good resources out there for this problem and will it get worse?  Is this going to progress to renal disease?

I have IC and MSK .  I have been amazed at how many MSKer's with IC,  I have met.
There are many great resources on the Health Pages that will help you.  I have also put many post that Cheryl added to the health pages on MSK and chronic pain!

I have a support group for patients in MO/Ark but I have a lot of info on IC to help patients too and a menu item for MSK.  I have a research paper on that site and it maybe here too on MSK and Biofilm infections, that might explain why you have WBC and Bacteria but they don't culture out!  I have another paper that is more in depth that is currently being finished and rewritten, by someone with more as my sister says alphabet soup after their name..,.(PHD, MD etc,,, LOL)

Hello, and WELCOME to the community ... we will get Shelly's paper into the health pages .. I don't think it's there .. this is a great community.

Are they going to do an IVP w/Contrast  X Ray - that will definitively tell if you have MSK.

And don't ever be fooled .. 2mm can hurt as much as a much bigger one .. I had a 1mm hang on for over a week and showed up on CT Scan and OUCH that hurt .. it had a hook on it!
