I have got the diagnosis Medullary Sponge Kidney (MSK).
All kidney stones have been removed.
Infections have been cured.
I have still pain in the kidneys and in my back and take strong painkillers.
What else can cause pain from MSK?
You are not alone with the pain. Listed below is a link on the same ?'s you ask. There is a click on link in the health pages (listed above) that talks about Why Do I Have Pain Yet Have no Stones!
One of the ?'s brought to light by many is whether the infections really are cured.
How long ago has it been since the last stone was removed?
I still get pain when I pass even small debris (pepper flakes) and all my stones are gone! But for me, I am lucky, once the flakes pass so does the pain ... others are in never-ending pain and I am so sorry you are going through this but so glad you have found us!
