Sooo Frustrated!!

by sickofstones, Aug 01, 2009 08:32PM
Hey everyone!  To those of you who forgot; my uro did Dr. Wolf's procedure back in May on me.  I'm happy to say that they are saying that they don't see any stones at all on either side at this time, however, my scans have been clear before and I had stones (plural).  The problem now though is I'm still experiencing alot of pain on both sides but mostly just the side that got done (right).  However, now it has got to the point that I have been praying it would never get to and that is my uro is starting not to beleive my pain along with local ER's.  He is sending me to a pain specialist and pulling me off my Percocet, which I have been on for almost a year for this pain. I am soooo scared!!  The whole time I have been on pain medicine I've wanted to get off of it knowing the effects, but how can someone when they experience soo much chronic pain???  He says they will keep my pain under control, but I feel if I go to the pain guy that I am somehow admitting it's not kidney pain and I know in my heart it has to be.  The ER doc told me that there is no way I could experince any pain in the kidney if the stones are in there.  I just looked at him and laughed.  Just because he read that in a text book somewhere.  Please what should I do???

I wondered how you were doing and am soo sorry you are still having so much pain!  However you are not alone. Please look under the health pages for the article on MSK pain and treatment,
Of course the one thing we recommed is checking the Vit D levels. I have been amazed at how this effects infection and pain.

Again you can have a chronic infection that does not show on standard test.  have they tried any antibiotics to see how your pain responds?
None of us like pain meds but for many of us pain management is what it takes just to function!  Hang in there and keep us posted!

We do also have a facebook page if your on facebook.. it is fun to put faces to names!

I would suggest you do consider calling Dr. Wolf and discussing with him
the increase in your pain levels.  I still say try some antibiotics first since busted
out those calcifications can and will then release bacteria into your body. But if that
does not tough the pain levels call or have you doctor call and talk to Dr. Wolf!
Though he is like 3 in the nation in his rating on using the laser, still he is human
and things can happen.  How many months are you now post op?

Have they checked your kidney function?
